Microfluidics Core Facility Organ-on-Chip techniques (under development)
Given the importance of Organ-on-Chip technologies we are currently working on the fabrication of such chip systems. Combining 3D printing and lithography we are trying different methods to achieve the best result. This technique is not yet completely established within the µFluCF, nevertheless we are open for collaborations and production of such chip systems if this is of importance for projects. Please do not hesitate in contacting us in this demand.
Live Cell and Organ on Chip Perfusion Systems
Our lab is fully equipped with the necessary instruments to perform real time live cell imaging experiments. One of those set ups is a stage top incubator from ibidi to ensure a controlled environment and simultaneously allow the perfusion of cells seeded within a chip. Additionally, we purchased an Organ-on-Chip perfusion system, specifically for double layered chip systems, which can be left in the incubator for prolonged cell cultures with continuous perfusion flow if live imaging is not requested. However, the OMI system can also be placed on a microscope stage to ensure live cell imaging while perfusion takes place. More information about the OMI can be found here:
Both set ups can be used in the µFluCF for long term culture of cells.
