Research

The Selhuber-Unkel group works at the interface of biophysics and biomaterials research, with a strong interest in functional systems. Our particular focus is on responsive and 3D structured materials, as well as bioinspired systems. Soft robotics is another recent emphasis of the group. We are primarily investigating soft microactuators based on responsive materials. Our interdisciplinary approach mainly includes perspectives and expertise in materials science, physics, chemistry, and biology.
