Alexander Soutschek is an Emmy Noether Group Leader and Associate Faculty member at the Graduate School of Systemic Neurosciences (GSN) at LMU Munich. His research explores the neural mechanisms of value-based decision-making and self-control, employing methods such as TMS, tDCS, fMRI, psychopharmacology, and computational modeling. Among his notable publications are studies on motivational enhancement through brain stimulation, effort-based decision-making, and the role of dopamine in social preferences—all published in prestigious outlets like Science AdvancesNature Human Behaviour, and Biological Psychiatry.
