Dr. Mai P. Tran

My research focuses on the design and application of programmable molecular systems for synthetic and biomimetic systems. I develop nucleic-acid origami architectures (DNA and RNA origami) that can self-assemble and function in complex environments, including cell-like compartments. Current directions include engineering DNA origami frameworks that interface with active materials and devices to study and control forces and organization at the nano- and microscale.
