Open Positions

We are always looking for motivated researchers to join our interdisciplinary team at the intersection of acoustofluidics, microfabrication, and biomedical engineering.
Our group develops micro- and nanofluidic technologies that use sound waves to manipulate biological particles such as extracellular vesicles, cells, and nanoparticles. By combining acoustofluidics, microfabrication and bioanalytical methods, we aim to create next-generation diagnostic and therapeutic tools for personalized medicine.

We welcome applications from candidates with backgrounds in:

  • Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, EV-Biology or related fields
  • Experience in one or more of the following:
    • Microfluidic design and fabrication
    • Acoustofluidics or micro-scale particle manipulation
    • Cell culture, extracellular vesicle analysis, or biomolecular assays
    • Finite element simulations
    • Fluorescence microscopy and image-based analysis
    • Bioinformatic analysis

Open positions:

  • PhD Students: Acoustofluidic enrichment of extracellular for early cancer diagnostics.

    PhD Position

  • Postdoctoral Researchers: Acoustofluidic enrichment of extracellular for early cancer diagnostics.

    Postdoc Position

  • Master’s Students & Interns: Project opportunities are available throughout the year in acoustofluidics, device microfabrication, and EV-characterization.

If you are curious, creative, and passionate about developing new technologies at the interface of physics, engineering, and biology, we’d love to hear from you.

Lab rotations (MoBi, MSSE)

Do you enjoy working in an interdisciplinary setting between engineering and biology? In our lab you can learn about 3D printing, rapid prototyping, microfluidics and hologram optimization with Python/PyTorch. Come to us and build new tools for advanced cell culture of tomorrow.

If you're a student of Molecular Biotechnology or Molecular SystemsScience and Engineering, we happily host your lab secondment in the section biophysical chemistry.
